are you planning on entering a golf tournament or instead trying to get some work done? That thing looks like it would do a better job as a caddy.

I've heard they're pretty good workhorses. Can't see them outside of a specialized environment, myself. Something like ranch work, or other institutional situation.

we just got a big contract with a golf course and are trying to find the best tool to move logs and not tear up the grass :bang:

cut the logs in firewood sizes pieces. place in wheelbarrow. unload them in the back of a light duty dump truck i.e F450.

We have contracts with a golf course and all the climbing has to be done manuallly. no bucket truck . no aerial lift . Same goes for loading the wood. No knucklebooms or heavy machinery besides a light duty dump truck and a chipper. We have to stay far away from the fairway with all equipment. If that means dragging the brush instead of backing up to it, thats what we gotta do.

You bring something like that to a golf course you will not be making a good impression on the grounds keeper or the ground itself.

You need good ground guys(latino's), not more equipment. you have enough equipment. :D

Get a Gehl AL20DX with turf tires and a grapple. I guarantee you will not tear up anything. It will do less damage than guys dragging brush because you will be able to carry 5 times the amount one guy can and carry that load in the air, not dragging on the ground. I have the mud grip tires on mine and even that doesn't mark up the grass.

Now that IS something I would get. You can get turf tires for them, the back dumps, it has a full cab that can fit two people easy, the front has full hydrolics, and it all wheel drive and it all wheel steer. I've heard nothing but great things about it and for what you're doing it would work great.

John464 is just mad he can't get something like that. :D

haha. i can buy anything i want but would rather maximize profits instead of being an equipment collector. My money looks better in the bank than going towards payments of non necessary toys.

Maybe im just old school?

Humans sometimes are the best tool for the job IMO

The right operator could use that on a golf course,i know the golf course i work on and sometimes travel across would be fine with me using it. I am schooled in fixing what i rip up though , and i do take special care not to cause damage on the course. From where i sit right now i give it a thumbs up. I see, in my opinion way to many arguments on here, remember guys everything is relative not only to ourselves.

Why don't you use your T-300's. If you only make a couple of passes in the same area there is hardly any evidence of being there and within a day or two any lines have dissappeared. Keep your lines straight and you should not have any problems. The tool cats will leave more marks in the grass then the tracked machines with repeated passes.

the T300's are to wide to run on the paths (5' wide) we have 200 trees to move (dead/almost dead pines) and the 300's would end up killing the grass on the side of the path

Another option you might want to look at is an ASV RC50 track loader with turf tracks (wide, no tread, made for golf courses and the like). They used to have a picture of one on the website, but I couldn't find it when I looked. I demo-ed a ToolCat for a week a couple of years ago and decided that it wasn't what I was looking for. The all wheel steer function was nice and easy on the grass. But it didn't have as much ummmphh as I thought it should have and I was trying to stay with a under 20K budget.

The ASV website is: www.asvi.com.

Just found the turf track link: http://www.asvi.com/rc50_turf.cfm

How did the Demo's go?

the toolcats very nice !! it will lift a 1500lb. log high enough to put it in a debris box (6') had no problem towing a Vermeer 752 stump grinder up hill or down seats 2 the bed is small 3'X4' but will fit all your gear and it dose not leave a mark on wet grass!

we like it and are going to order one :)

I'd like to know how the toolcat has been working out. As a life-long bobcat user, I've often thought that they would be pretty nifty for tree work - especially if one wanted to put a small chip box on the back and tow a small chipper into back yards or tight spots where a big chip truck couldn't go.

What attachments do you run on it and do you feel it was a wise investment now that you've had it a couple of years?

What do you not like about it?
