Well its that time of year again. Cold wet and miserable. I want to pass on a company to you that some of you may already know about and some may not. The company name is Obenaufs.
They make oils, waxes, and waterproofers for protecting/restoring ALL leathers and fabrics. Their specialty though lies in Leather protecting, moisturizing, restoring. From boots to bags to car interiors. I only use this product on my oil tanned leathers. Works unbelievable!!

Do some reading about the history of this co.

I have no ties to this co. Just a VERY happy customer.

I have a tub of mink oil that I use for my boots. I guess it works ok.

Was out of butter one day and was 1/2 way in making a grill cheese sandwich before I realized it. Well, it didn't taste half bad.....just kiddin..tasted like crap.

I used some old military boot polish/sealant one time...that's some rich stuff. Lasted longer than most oils. I'm sure you can find it online somewhere. It's in a round can little smaller than a cd. Worth trying if you and your boots are in the muck and snow alot.

Loggers oil-cats meow. I have stood in a creek with my Viberg boots that were heavily oiled, dry feet, great.

I've been using the stuff for years and never knew they had a website. Thanks. Works better than anything I've found so far.

I'm also a fan of Obenauf's.

I have a pair of Nick's Forester boots for firefighting.
Nick's included a small jar of Obenauf's heavy duty leather preservative.
I must say, it works much better than Sno-seal and a few other products I've tried.

I got cases of that stuff.

nasty thick sticky rather peculiar odor stuff!!!!!!!!! You'd best not make any plans for the night if your using this stuff on your boots, cuz its gonna take yoiu a while to work it in. (and get it off your hands). BUT, that being said........take a brand new pair of stiff leather boots and coat the inside and outside LIBERALLY and warm it with your hand and work the leather. Then lace em up tight and go for a run. Soft, pliable water repellent boots by the time you return.

oh and uh...its just a "wee" bit flammable..... ;) if your ever going hiking in the wilderness, take a tin of this for those downpouring days when you want to start a fire. Smear a glob ABOVE and on a pile of kindling, light it and youll have a rather fierce INFERNO... lol lol lol

All the products mentioned above are great for waterproofing. What about moisturizing the leather to help it not dry out? I pay 400 a pair for my boots so I do everything I can to make them last. One pair I have had for 7 years and have used this product as well as a private label of Obenaufs, for those seven years and he boots are in like new shape.
