I have been looking for a new pair of quality boots. I am looking at the Chippewa 25510 10" loggers.

Like? dislike?

Info would be great!

Thanks

Chippewa boot's were ok until (I think it was) Tony Lama bought them out.
They were ok, but wouldn't hold a candle to White's, Wesco, etc, etc.

I like the Wesco timber boots, don't want spikes. To expensive also!

I got a pair of the 16" Red Dawg climbers about 3-4 months ago. I have been really impressed so far. I had the 10" wesco and they were great, I just couldn't see spending $500 on the 16" wesco.

I bought these about a year ago. I am not a logger. But they are pretty tough and very comfortable. I wear them all day without a problem. They are totally waterporoof and my feet don't sweat too much in them summer or winter. They are kinda heavy though. I got them form zappos.com for about $250 I think. They claim to be made in the USA.

That is similar to what I want, best price I found online is $165. Store wanted $205

look at labonville, i paid 189 for mine and they are nice boots. they are not insulated or waterproof but i have spent about 4 dollars for snow seal and made them very water proof. wool socks will keep your feet warm. they come in all sizes and they have high and low heels. plus if you are in NE they have stores that you can go into and try them on and dont have to guess when you buy them.

I've liked my redwings and they seem to hold up pretty well. I don't think they are in the same league as Whites or Wescos but for a budget minded purchase, they'll last reasonably well. I think the new Danner Rainforest boots are also supposed to be pretty comparable. Best of luck.

When I was young, and budget minded a wise old faller told me a truth that I'll never forget. He said; "Son, you make your living on your feet. When they get tired and beat, the rest of you ain't far behind. Get yourself some real boots."
