I've seen a few squirrels with those lumps. I always figured it was cancer from chewing on the lead vent pipes up on the roof.

Bot fly will paritisze almost anything, I've read that thedifferent species are host specific and that 30-60% of any population will be paritisized by at least one maggot

Humans have been known to get infected.

Teh females lay the eggs at the entrance to burrows and dens, and the entry path is usually oral/nasal

I had a cat several years ago that developed a lump on her belly, after a while the little fella inside gnawed himself an air hole which made a handy place to yank him out with a pair of hemostats. Cute little thing he was.

I had a muscilaginous (sp?) inside my lower lip once, it really got big quick.

Looked pretty gross when I rolled my lip over. Whenthey took it off it ruined the tattoo in there, now it more like "GET FUCPED"
