2012 F250 XL 4x4 with the 6.2 gasser. Added a 9'6" Fisher Extreme V plow to it just in case we get snow again.

Deep pearl blue, FX4 package, power equipment group, electronic shift on the fly 4x4, cloth seats, rubber floor mat, electronic locking rear differential with 3:73 gears.
The 6.2 is rated @ 385 HP and 405 FPT. And it feels like it. Saw 17 mpg on the dash mileage readout, but that was @ 28-32 mph on a flat back road. 11-12 mpg in urban stop and go.

$4K down, 0% for 60 months. $542.80 a month. $36,569.00 OTD including 5he $5400 plow.

I pick it up around the first of December.

I am stoked.

If I can get to plow 10 times, the year's payments are taken care of....but it has to snow regular like.
Put another way, the truck payment is one truck load of firewood a month. No biggie.

Either way, I now have confidence that I will actually get to work, and will actually be able to finish the plow route without working on the plow in the headlights on the side of the road in a blizzard...

Those are great trucks. Congrats. When I saw the monthly number I cringed a little bit but you're right...with a big dependable plow on the front it won't be hard to justify. I've got a '06 powerstroke that treats me pretty good and my next truck (hopefully not anytime soon) will be either another Ford or a Toyota tundra. Question: why didn't you go diesel? With a chip and exaust kit, I'm pulling close to 23 mpg even with a bit of a load. Either way, I'm jealous.

Nice purchase! My boss had a 2011 250 super duty with the 6.2 in it. He loved it, but had to trade it in just this week. He has rheumatoid arthritis, and was having a hard time climbing into the cab. He seemed to average around 12mpg. That truck had some nuts. I'm a GM guy, but that was one Ford that I would consider buying.

I should clarify the mpg # I bragged about. That's highway with a tailwind.

...was gonna say

My work rig is a '04 F-350 with the Powerstroke and it gets about 10 MPG, but then, it's usually got 250 gallons of water on it and it's almost always on gravel roads moving <20 MPH. Good truck, though -- only real problems I've had with it have been front sway-bar related. Everything else has been actual damage.

Madhatte. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize that I'm kind of cherry picking the mpg # based on a few trips back and forth from MT to Colorado. I've conveinantly (I cant spell that word for the life of me) forgot about the numbers with a headwind or less than highway conditions. I guess I can only really say that the chip and exaust mod gained me, on average, 2 to 4 mpg overall. Probably just now starting to break even on the cost of the mods after 6 years. Damn, I was feeling pretty good for awhile there...:msp_sad:

I could not justify ( or afford) the extra $7600 for the 6.7. Since I hope to trade for another new Ford in 3 years, I wouldn't make up the cost via fuel savings. I'd have to keep it for 400K miles to do that. Also, the gasser can more than handle what I will be doing. I have a 2000 F550 4x4 dump with the 7.3, and it weighs in @ 11,850 empty with 1/2 a tank of fuel.
Empty, on flat back roads @ 32-35 mph in TC lockup (4th gear auto @1250-1300 rpm) I can squeeze 13 mpg out of it. Loaded @ 55-60 on the highway = 9-10 mpg. It has 4:88 gearing.

Not bragging really I'm not... 1990 fur'd F-250 7.3 diesel currently 130xxx miles 17 mpg loaded or not, cost me clearing about 3 acres of alder and a $12.99 tranny relay switch. Not bragging not at all...:msp_biggrin:

Those trucks (1987-1991) had wiring issues @ the firewall connection for the main harness....water and vibration and sometimes the wires hit the exhaust (maybe gas only?) and melts...
I'd put some WD40 all over every wire connection you can find.

Thanks, I am very excited. This is the second new vehical I have purchaced. The first one was in 1989, a new (special ordered) Mustang LX 5.0 coupe. $11,500 OTD. I miss that car. I still dream I'm driving it every now and then.

Hey, your screen name.....you in a band? I play (I like to think) the guitar.

What kind of rebate are you giving up for the 0% APR? Might be cheaper on your wallet to take the rebate and finance thru a local bank, one thing about the current economy is dirt cheap money.

Had a choice of either $3500 in rebates and who knows what APR....

or $1500 and 0%.

Both offers are contingent on using FoMo credit.

The 0% was the lowest payment. Like $3500 better over the term of the loan.
And free money is always the best way to go.

Sorry Oldtimer, but that's at least a dozen years away from being a crummy, at least if crummy standards are anywhere close to farm truck standards.

I keep telling myself I don't need a fancy new truck, and so far it's working. Drove a friend's '11 F150 with the little EcoBoost motor and it almost tipped me though. 11' camper on the back and a heavy 20' fiberglass walleye boat behind, and it still had pedal to spare up the hills. I'm just waiting to see how they hold up long term before I pull the trigger. (And that's coming from a lifelong Chevy guy). He averages 18 empty - mostly rural 2 lane blacktops. We got 11 on the trip, which ain't bad considering. My 88 Chev struggles to get 10 just towing his boat, without the camper.

One question - who drives back roads at 30 MPH? Here, 50ish is about normal on blacktop township roads, maybe slightly less on gravel. My road seems to have all the lead footed people driving it, at least once a day a car will go by at well over 80. Grrrr....

Compared to the ask for an f truck in
Australia its cheap.... Due to all our taxes.

And we havent had Ford import a f truck with a steering wheel on the correct side for a few years now, so prices haven't dropped at all.

Have you dinged it yet? I always like to get that over as soon as possible.

Bought a new truck in 98. front lugnuts kicked up a piece of firewood into the door.

I got out...did a little dance... got back in & headed to the woods to get more.

The back roads around me are posted 35mph, not many people pay attention to it, but a few do, and they are really annoying. I did a pass a state patrol last night at 45 in a 35, I was in the middle of a line of three, he didn't do anything. I have done 90 on a gravel logging road wasn't driving, won't ride with that moron ever again... (yes I am related to him)
