Bought some property with lots of wood

Bought some property a little while back . Have about 10 or 12 trees down from Sandy still. This one was way in the back of the 12 acres hard to get to but I am clearing as I go to get to it, have about 10 cords so far mostly oak and some ash

That looks like a nice piece of land. There's not too much land like that in Texas west of I35.

real nice piece of land one house on it that is right off the street that I am renting out . Plans are to build my home in the back area

if you strip the bark off of them they will last a whole lot longer in "horizontal mode"..

All the oak and other trees are just like that one there are a lot bigger ones on the property

You may want to consider doing a select cut in there to maintain the overall stand. Definitely looks like those trees are sawlog quality.

I am going to cull to build my house. Had a buddy who is a forester walk the property before hunting season. He and I took 3 deer out this season too

When I was a kid (5-7ish) we lived in Modena for a few years. Very beautiful from what I remember. I would love to let my XPW get a heaping helping of that Oak. That will be some great BTU's in a couple of years. Thanks for the pics.

That log should go to a sawmill, it would make some NICE lumber to build something for your house out of it, once it's dry...

Don't have the means to get it out in one piece . Still have to make a small bridge to get to it there is a large stream in the middle of the property. Runs right across it about 6 ft wide 2-3 feet deep.
