I ran across this piece on the youtube a while back. Its just about the way I feel right now, maybe 80% is right, maybe less, maybe more. It just seems as though the fella that wrote this song might have felt the same way as I do right now, so I'd like to "Bump" it on so maybe some of yall might could enjoy it . . .

how about this

I'm not the guy who shuts down operations, but I work with him. I DO "hang ribbons all around". That song just cracks me up. One of my all-time favorites.

It isn't as much "fun" anymore. Most of the guys logging here shut themselves down, making for way less paperwork and phone calls. I don't like to shut people down because it makes for more paperwork. One guy did an excellent job of ruining my sleep, he said I ruined the Christmas Check. That wasn't a fire shutdown.

'Round here more of our shutdowns are military than logging.

It always makes me giggle a bit when some Captain comes in all angry because he can't shoot off tracers or flares. I caught a unit shooting tracers last year and made 'em strip all of their linked ball ammo to comply. That's thousands of rounds at 4:1. They knew better; we were weeks into the tracer ban. I was watching the grass fire at the back of the range out of one eye and the Captain out of the other.

Usually the Military folks are very respectful and comply with all rules, so it really sticks out when somebody wants to buck the system. It always comes down to quotas: "you must fire this many of this kind of munitions per this unit of time to maintain proficiency", which I totally understand, but they've gotta follow the rules just like everybody else.
