I vote 7900 all the way! its a great saw for the design, I just have one issue with the 64-79 series saws, that issue is the air filter design, I mean the cover on the air filter, I dont like rounded shapes on an air filter cover, I just cant see the logic in it, the Husky filter covers are my favorite style.
 
I agree, when i saw the air filter i thought what a joke but after running the 7900's a while now , it is ok , i never get any crap in itand it gets it air from up above the saw so it is clean air
 
not concerned w air filter design
the rear handle looks like its off the line of the bar
never had one of these in my hands, but it looks as though the rear aint quite behind the bar, am i wrong?

As far as can a stihl be as fast , yes it can but i would think you will tie up a little more money to do so, the 7900 is hard to beat for the most bang for your buck
 
this from the mouth of the horse information is what helps me spend wisley on a saw that will last me for years. thanks.
need to call dan and see what i can spend and what he can do.
with all respect, ehp, dans closer, he supposededly sells them, and your voice hasnt been lost with me, mabie you wanna work on my 36?:D i wouldnt waste your time. SHEES so dogged out. then again, whats it cost to ship to you from up in NY?
