I just purchased a stihl ms 362, the first day , it bogged down litterally the chain stopped mid log, it sounds fine spooling and running but it just plain stalls under load. I took it to the shop the guy turned up the high idle, he said it should be fine now , saw the owner on the way out he said is everything ok i told i wouldnt know until i was cutting, that was tuesday, i never tried it until saturday (today) and same thing on the first cut ...no power... shops closed sunday and i will take it back anyone got any ideas to as what could be wrong , on this brand new saw

Not sure why adjusting the high idle would help weak power. I think he was blowing smoke. Isn't the 362 one of the new Strato saws ?

Sounds lean to me....agree that adjusting the idle was total bs.

The guys in the chainsaw forum reply quickly and accurately to most chainsaw problems, that's where I'd post this.

Who cares? Just take it back. Why in the world would you even think about what is wrong with something new with a warranty? Take it back. Did I mention take it back?

Had the same thing happen to my 361. Fuel line got disconnected or something like that. The saw still had to be disassembled to fix. A friend fixed mine so I couldn't even tell you how but I do know it was a problem with the fuel line on mine.

Edit: Come to think of it the line was not disconnected. It had a hole in it or something I remembered. It was sucking air and stalling when I tried to lay it to wood. In any event, a new line fixed it.

Agreed on taking it back cause it is new. Does the engine keep running when the chain stops? If so, then it could very well be in the drive system. How tight is your chain? Make sure the saw is oiling well. No oil=hot bar and a good chance the chain will stop turning in the cut.
