We used many different types of assembly lube at the machine shop. Can't say one was better then the next. Everything got covered in it, cams, bearings, oil pumps, etc. Pistons got transmission fluid, or engine oil ( 2 stroke oil if it was 2 stroke). The thought behind the trans fluid was it burned off quick, but let the pistons have a bit of lube till the oil system was working properly. Never noticed a difference from one dipped in trans fluid to regular engine oil.I use my Clevite on 2 and 4 strokes. Any and all metal on metal can be coated in my opinion. It'll burn off after engine gets to running a bit. Disclaimer... may foul a spark plug in the process. That happened 1 time in 28 yrs and counting.
The Ultra Slick is good in my book too!
