Odd, can only think of one other time I did that and that was to tip tie the whole thing and cut it at the base. Kinda weird setting up a rigging line, tying in, and then actually going to work...in...an...apple. Had some time after grinding the stump, waiting for the truck and trailer so I took a few shots of the chunk wood on the ground. Nice size tree...for an apple.

I was actually kinda sad to take this one out. I wanted to prune it, reduce the profile pretty severely and then just maintain it but my pruning price was about $500 more than my removal.

She's gone, she's gone, oh why?

why is that wood next to the road?

are you insane? that stuff would have gone straight home.

And don't forget:
Its the little ones that get ya too. Don't under-estimate the tree. If it takes a set up of the gear then just set it up. Just cause its small don't mean you can just pick it up and put it in the truck.

Thanks for the warning, Dano. Also never forget that the tree police could be right around the corner.

I think I'm gonna try and do some ribs with that stuff. Never tried smoking before, but seems like it would be tasty.

Oh you haven't lived...Google "Ugly Drum Smoker build"

I just finished mine and it's the best pit i have ever cooked in....

I am also in the process of taking out about eight apple trees for a nice lady up the road..she lost her husband recently and we bought a bunch of stuff at the estate auction...I'm pruning out a few big pecans for her and aking out thse fe apples..she laughed at me for getting all excited about the apples...until I explained that I was making BBQ with them...the pecan makes good Q too..

Reminds me...I just finished smokng some buck board bacon, I should take her a bit...

Good hijack, eh?

I feel the pain. I just had to remove the apple tree in my yard. My kids are pissed. Tried for a couple years to keep it going, but it got fire blight real bad. I dont want it to fall on any one. But on the upside...BBQ...yeah.
