I have a BB 65 and I have a few maintenace questions. Does this machine have an adjustable block the knives go past? When i get down to the small stuff it tends to just yank it through in long strips. Also the chips seem kinda large. The knives all look sharp and don't have any knicks in them.

Yes, the anvil is located on the right side and held tight by 3 bolts. Two of the three are connected to adjusting eyebolts. The anvil will mount in four different ways, allowing the use of four edges before it must be replaced. Clearance should be .045 to .065 inch. If the edge is rounded over, it can cause the problem you describe.
Clearance must be checked at both the inboard and outboard portions of the cutting edge of both blades.

I was able to locate what I think is the adjustment bolts but you literally have to completely dismantle the chipper to even see where the anvil and blades/flywheel do their business. Who designs this crap?

Remove the 2 big springs on the sides. Jack up the infeed wheel using the tounge jack and insert the safety lock pin. ( top back )
Open the disk cover so your helper can move the disk to position the blades as needed. Slide head first on the table and reach into the infeed opening with a piece of shim stock the correct thickness.
Position blades and check clearence. It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to do the check and put things back eady to run, unless you have to adjust the anvil. Add 15 minutes to an hour more if you have to adjust things. Even more if you have to flip the anvil. If you pull it out, take time to clean ALL sawdust buildup away from the corners and crevices before putting the anvil back in place.
