I didn't say it wouldn't handle it, it does, but it is not the proper tool for the job if there are more than a few of them. :greenchainsaw:

I wasn't disagreeing with you or contradicting what you said. I think we are both making the same point -- just using different words. You are absolutely right -- 4" trees are pushing a 250 too hard. I will use it on trees that size occasionally, but if there are very many I haul out my little 336.

Yes, get a real clearing saw... JONSERED

Do you use also the Maxi blade on your brushcutter ?Here, the Maxi is the most popular.

Yep, agree, I haul out the 353 if there are more than very few 4" ones to cut.....

Btw, I am trying to find an excuse to get a 339xp, but it isn't easy, as the 353 really is light enough........

I was going to get a 339, but I couldn't find a local dealer who had any or who had any real prospects of getting one in, so I settled on the 336 ($400.00 out the door). It cuts all out of proportion to its size and weight. The 339xp looks even better and should be a sweet little machine.

I do a lot of cutting in fence rows and in other places where I end up in awkward positions and the lighter saw makes life much easier and safer.

I have only used the Scarlett 200-22 blade.
Scarlett (8") 200-22 and Scarlett (9") 225-24 is what Jonsered/Husqvarna recommend for this type of clearing saw's. But maybe I will try a Maxi blade sometime.

whats the difference between scarlett and maxi blade?

The difference is the cutter on the blade, Maxi is a blade that have cutters that look a bit like chainsaw-cutters.

Ahh, thanks for great pic....

Been using scarlet blades myself (those that look like circular saw). Cant see any benefit running maxi?

After what I understand, Maxi is for engines under 45cc and are smoother to cut whit.
And you have one Opti blade (10") 255-22 that is only for the biggest clearing saw's.

The main reason i heard is that a Scarlett has too many teeth to file,so they used Maxi .

Well. we have Maxi blade here that have the same number of teeth that a Scarlett blade have. The only Maxi blade I have seen here, whit half the number of teeth is the OREGON COBRA BLADE.

It is a FC 2145, according to the attachment link under the picture.....

Yes that's right, same as Husqvarna 343F, 45cc 2,7hp.

what size is the jonsered brushutter in the picture?what size jonsered cutter is good for cutting up to 4" maples and alder?thanks

It's a clearing-saw, not a brush-cutter, there is a difference in this types.
I think a clearing saw like the one I have is a good size. If a clearing-saw or brush-cutter is to light it's pain to work whit in big brushes.

Here is some photo of Jonsered clearing-saw and brush-cutter, you can see that there is some difference, like the handle, throttle, and there is a longer rig tube on the brush cutter.
