Does anyone know where I can buy that whistle device used by loggers. I believe they call it a "buck device". The chocker setter whistles the yarder operator when the logs are set!

The main brand is called a Talkie Tooter. Or they are known as bugs as in The %$& bugs quit again. Google "Talkie Tooter" and you should find a dealer. They are very expensive and are set to a specific radio frequency.
The ones on the show are also programmed to run the carriage. The lower tone (sounded like a chevy horn) was the carriage answering. The higher pitched one that'll blow your eardrums out if you are on the landing, is the one signalling the yarder engineer or the yarder engineer signalling the crew.

Cute story: I drove up to check on a sale last summer. They were down for maintenance. The hooktender had his 4 year old stepson along. The boss let the kid sit on his lap in the yarder and push the whistle button. The kid jumped and screamed like it scared him, but then he had to push it over and over, screaming after every whistle. It's an expensive toy though.
