The big'un (30") probably will end up bowl blanks . The smaller (22") might end up a large bowl itself. They have to dry for some years yet.

Why not turn them wet?

I am curious why you would dry them before turning? Much quicker to rough them out green and then dry them. Lots of info. on the web if you have never done this before. Also, Bowlsaver would help you make lots of bowls out of this great piece of wood. You can also turn them wet from start to finish but they will not dry round (some turners like the different shapes).

Just a few thoughts from someone that turns more than I mill.

Sure thing I'll rough them round, wax them up then sit'em on a shelf and watch them from time to time. Then when they are ready...To everything turn...turn...turn.
