Wonder how many enviros will read that and just maybe get a clue?

Short answer? None. They don't listen to reason. Logic doesn't sway them. We look for them to play their obstructionist games hot and heavy next year.
SPI was cutting roads and doing THPs on their own ground before the fire was all the way out. They're very aggresive on burn salvage so they can get back in there and replant. The preservationists didn't have a chance to really gear up.
Exact amounts differ but I keep hearing 17000 acres of private salvage just on the Rim Fire. The rest is mostly government ground and you know how that goes. Maybe it will get salvaged...maybe not.

Good article Bob, and glad to see someone getting value out of the burned stuff.

Is it just me, or are newspaper sites the most ad filled sites on the web? I just hate clicking on em, and it drives my popup blocker bat guano crazy. It's not just one, it's almost all newspaper sites I visit.
