This is related to my other post about wood ruining my bar/chain. Is there any problem with running a burned bar? I'll get it into the shop to dress the rails. Is there anything I could/should do for it?

Burned Bar:

This is just my opinion, but if your going to use a burned bar I would make sure the rail channell is cleaned out good and that the side rails are dressed even and smooth, just to get a little more life out ot it. If it's discollored it would seem that the temper would be gone and tha bar would be not of much use. Just clean her up goed, even up the side rails and make sure she's getting lots of oil. JMO.
