Nope, but I still like them. BTW Gypo isn't Alaskan although the woods in his dooryard does look quite similar to the woods here.

And here I thought this was about the sticky icky. ******* hippies!

English muffins a staple of the Alaskan diet?

I am a beekeeper and was reading recently about plantain as a treatment for bee stings. I plucked a leaf and scrunched it up until some juice was flowing and rubbed it on the sting area. Almost immediately the pain subsided and my thumb never did swell.
There it is for what its worth.

My grandmother told me that she had heard as a young child that if you ate a leaf a day, it would help prevent reacting to Poison Oak. If i were smart, i would cultivate it, and try it for several years, just in case...

Haven't had spruce gum in decades.
Remember Grandpa showing me how to look for a select wad and carefully removing it with his knife then picking small unwanted bits off the outsides.
Eaten what we called "Maine bananas", fern root and in the spring fiddleheads.
Chanterelles, morels, "pink bottoms" and young puff balls.
Dandelion greens & young milk weed leaves.

Anyone know the trick to knowing where ginsing is not at? Whenever you see an old drink can and a sardine can sittingon the ground. Lol

The most disheartening thing is when you find a big patch early in the year get it set on your GPS and you go back to dig it and the dirty prick's dug every last one. Even the seedlings.
