Do any of you guys use business cards made out of actual wood? I have been given 2 of these cards that I can remeber and always thought they were really cool.

Probably get frowned on by die - hard tree lovers. Hard to sell preservation work handing out wood cards. I have seen them though and they look cool.

I have seen those cards before, they look pretty slick, There used to be an ad for them in the back of the old Baileys catalouge, but I havent seen them in a few years. I would like to know where I could get some of those printed up.:blob2:

They usually have them listed in the Xmas edition of Baileys, I'm sure they could get them if you called. A little expensive though.

Todd, You got that right!. I love the look but they are too bloomin' expensive to hand out with abandon-which is the way I like to use business cards.

I got one card from a logging company, and another from an equipment dealer... so neither of them are really out there selling preservation.

I don't have a pic but they are just business cards printed on thin Veneer srather than cardstock. About 2.5 -3 times as thick as normal. The appearance varies with the wood used.

I've got a few in my "collection. They don't hold up as well as paper.

Just veneer, splits like it. I've seen some glued to paper too.

I've seen that some of my clients keep my card in their truckor wallet (That's an ego boost!), so I want it to hold up to the abuse.

That was my next question. Would they split down the middle if you had it in your back pocket and sat down? They do look cool though.

Yes, If my scanner still worked I'd show you the pieces of one I've got on my desk.

Just think of how veneer splits down the axis of the grain if you don't handle it right.
