Butternut logs arrived here today. Looking forward to seeing what's inside but won't get a chance to mill for 2 or 3 weeks.

Very cool. I enjoyed milling butternut almost as much as walnut. It has so much character. It's amazing the difference in grain and color in every tree. Looking forward to seeing the slabs.
 
Butternut's are beauties no doubts there. The fruit is lip smack'in good too. Right out of the husk or dried. Got some Italian Chestnuts around here too. Remember to poke holes in'em before you roast them or they'll explode.
