Problems with teeth breaking off what are you doing with it trying to gring stumps... I have never had a problem like that with Carlton chain..

later Rob..

No they broke when I was doing tsi work, girdling softmaple and hemlock.
Could be I'm banging the chain as I start, really not sure yet. Its only happened to two of the six chains I've bought so far.

I have taken a look at many of those sites before, and again today. I have also used the oregon website. The trouble I have with any of these is how do you determine which one to buy. Even Oregon offers a myriad of choices with different features, and I cannot figure out which one to buy or which one I would be getting if I ordered it. Oregon has LP D DP and a bunch of others. To add to that, I find spools of chain for sale, that may be great or junk, but no way of finding out what they are (oregon 11-H for instance). I am a tad anal-idiac and have created a spreadsheet for the chains I use. But putting all the different brands on there is unrealistic. I have found it easier to walk in and tell the guy at the counter what I have and let him hand me the chain. Do you just memorize the ONE chain you like or use and always buy that one? Any hints? 2nd on Bailey's Woodsmen Pro with Rick.

especially catching premaid loops on sale (like right before Christmas), kinda make someone with a breaker/maker think about not getting a spool a turn or 2! They only have 'aggressive' styles of this chain (no safety slow models!, lots less choices Mr. John!)

Discounts for lots of 10 (usually $1 per) lo-pro, .325 with skips available in .375 (3/8). 16" chain (60DL) @ $10 before discounts/sales. Really like the chain service life and edgeholding.
