hi there,

i know i can get stuff online, but does anyone know of any real live dealers that stock sthil/husky etc, the closer to fort lauderdale the better.

Also looking for pole saws, ropes, winches, wedges etc, but realise thats a long shot.

Thanks,

karl

Nick your post sounds like your accusing the guy of trying to rip them off.

British, Good luck! Your best bet may be to call one of the major online or mail order arbo suppliers and have them ship you what you need. If you need saws call your local dealer wherever you might normally buy and have them ship to you. Easy as done!

If your'e just now trying to get into the work, i wish you good luck I'd say you might be a day late and a few dollars short....

Well as long as you are honest and ethical(I think most of you guys are) I say go for it! Those people need technical tree work and help with hazard trees and debris clean up like no other. Herein Gainesville, we were not hit nearly as bad in 04 as the Lauderdale area was with Wilma and Katrina, and yet it took us from September through at least Nov-Dec to get rid of MOST of teh trees thatwere killed or knocked over in Frances and Jeanne, so if he's good I'd say he's doing a great service. Try going to these places for Husky or STIHL info http://stihlusa.com and http://www.husqvarna.com
That will get you started, now if you were up in Gainesville I could tell you exactly where to go and whom to avoid, but this site will tell you who in teh Coral Springs Pompano Beach area has some Stihl and Husky saws.

I'm a computer consultant that got laid off on october 15, and I'd worked as a tree surgeon on england for three years and I was a ???? good climber, any way wilma blew threw and I thought it was an oportuntiy to help and pay my rent. As it turns out my experience has also helped in estimating and other aspects of the business, so I guess the consulting wasn't all for naught.

best,

Karl
