I am looking at buying a couple of saws tomorrow and need some opinions of those who have ran them. I have ran Husqvarna 372xp for the last 8 years. My new 372 had less than 10 hours on it and lost the e clip and had a leaky gasket. Took it over to have warranty work done on it at a dealer and after they replaced the gasket they adjusted the carb for over 10 minutes and dumped too much fuel. The piston ring shattered and scored up the piston and cylinder. They said they couldn't find the warranty and wanted over $1,000 to fix their screw up. I paid $85 to get my saw back in pieces. I am trying to get it fixed but need to get a couple of saws in the meantime.

I am looking at Jonesered and Echo. I am thinking of getting the echo 680 and a Jonesered 2255. I cut Juniper and have been using saws commercially for over 12 years. I like the warranty on the echo but have never ran one. I have heard the Jonesered are a lot like Husqvarna. Jonesered will be from tractor supply and echo from IFA. The Stihl dealer doesn't have a 362 or 441 in stock and over $1,200 for a 461 is too rich for me and I have not had good luck with Stihl in Juniper. Obviously Huqvarna is out of the question because of the experience with the only dealer in the area.

These brands are the only available in my area and will be over a 250 mile round trip to pick them up. Please comment with any experiences you have with the saws listed.

Call Husqvarna Corporate, and/or Customer Service in the morning after you accurately record every detail related to this fiasco.

Make sure they understand exactly what the deal is.

I haven't been able to find a number on their website. Still have to get some wood cut before I am shut down with fire restrictions so need a saw

I have only briefly handled an echo 680 and they are old school design. Not a high reving saw but some torque. The AV killed it almost instantly for me on the 680. The 620 is smaller but I would be able to get more wood with it. The 590 again not as powerful but for $400 it is a solid saw and might get you by just fine until you have time to shop. Plus you would always have a solid 2nd saw.

Have u considered a Stihl ms391 or 311 ? If u decide its not a keeper, they most often have very good resale value, so it may be the better investment until u find what you are ultimately looking for. Echo 590 sounds like it would be a safe temporary investment also. I don't know enough about the models u mentioned to comment on them.

Forget the echo 680 and look at the 590/600/620 series of saws. Newer design and high revving. Just do a search on them on this site. Jreds are essentially husqvarna. Most questions are answered here

By the way that dealer sounds like a dirt bag. my opinion is the 590 would be perfect until you found what you are looking for.

Send @fordf150 a pm he's a great dealer and will tell you anything you need to know about saws. He's treated me like family. He is a dealer for both saws you mentioned
Nate is great! He also has Dolmar and the 7900 would be a solid replacement for a 372. That is if he could wait for the shipping. He is pretty fast and I usually get things in about 3 days from him.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up buying both the jonesered 2255 woodsman and the echo 590 timber wolf. Now I have to go try them out and see what they are like. Husqvarna is investigating and I am waiting on a call from them. I am very interested in the Dolmars but there isn't a dealer around here to look at them.

Make sure to Keep us posted. I would love to hear your thoughts on both. Don't forget no photos and videos means it didn't happen. Hope they both serve you very well.
