I'm very serious about purchasing a tree care business in New England. Does anyone have information they are willing to share on the tree care business price valuations? For example... cash flow X 2,3,4,5 = price. This is a business that has been around for +15 years and owner has other interests. The business has 14 employees, equip and assets with $1.2M replacement value ... all in good condition, >2000 customer in 2004.

Your help is appreciated.

You're not buying the cashflow, are you? You are buying the equipment, maybe land/property, and the hope that the employees will stick around and the clients will keep calling as soon as they figure out you're not the other guy.

Looking at it this way, the biz might not be worth as much as originally thought.

This is a good question. What can one really charge for a biz they are selling?
