Ran out and looked at this job today. Storm damaged oak removing both down portion and what's left of this oak. The guy also wants this medium size oak over the house removed. If i get it I will post pics of removals. I often wonder why people build around trees like this, but then again I guess it good for us that they do.:chainsaw:

cool pics. Idk why they build around trees i guess it looks cool..... until the tree grows.

My Buddie built his deck around a tree.... bad idea.

The question is not why they build the house around a tree like that but HOW.
Actually with proper pruning and a cable it should be good to go.:dizzy:

Well if you do take it down at least getting in the tree will be cake.

so lets build a house with a tree laying damn near on it then lets take all the weight off to make it lean on the house and rub against the gutters even more.

if the guy who owns the house now is this dumb you be able to creatively sell him on nice fat bid

shame those limbs are off. would of served as good re-directs in the removal process

what do you mean How??

It kinda looks it would be in the way if you where swinging a hammer on the deck. Not to mention how much root system had to be dug out for the foundation. Putting shingles on looks as much fun as trying to get the pen that fell down under the car seat.

If you do drop that tree I would board up in front of that basement slider, dont want a piece of debris flying through that, would be a real bummer. I know its a minor concern compared to the rest of the tree but its something that could get overlooked.

I bet Asthesun could have that down and chipped in an hour and a half.

Not to hard. Deck's are screwed together... if their done rite with drills/ impact guns...no hammers.

Frame is made with nail gun, just pull the trigger.

Shingles are easily modified with a razor knife.

Iv had to do some ####ty situations with decks the tape gets a lot of use.

I don't think at all that the tree in those pictures was there when that house was built. If it was they sure had a damn good architect. I'd also like to know who pruned it last as that tree is butchered and susceptible to disease. If it wasn't so massive the cuts on those leads would have definitely murdered that thing.

I want to see more pictures of the storm damage that is cool. Mother nature just knocking over a tree with a 20-30 foot root spread amazing!

I had to remove a tree that someone had built there deck around about a year ago and boy was that a horror show. I don't like the groundmen using saws because of liability issues so I couldn't lower anything too big. I was up in the tree for about 6 hours lowering your average limb (2 at a time) with ropes because the deck was attached to the house and the tree was leaning directly over the house.

He then asked if I could grind the stump. What a hoot. I told him no and then explained to him about having Garlon applied to prevent sprouting and said his best bet was to just build over the damn thing.

Look like one of my type jobs lol  good luck with everything and post them pics:monkey:

Can not drop the tree at all, every tiing has to be rigged and main trunk cut in disks and handed off too much structure around it. What I neglected to put in the pictures is the lake. The house faces the lake which is only 20' from the base of the tree. There is one good lead to rig off and I think we can speed line a bunch. This tree is in ok shape but not great some of the top is dyeing out and there are some large patches of bark peeling off the main trunk. I think the guy got a wakeup call when the other oak failed and landed on his boat an lift.:chainsaw:

Speak not glibly of the master when you are but a youngling. Remove this tree in 45 minutes he could. Solo. Not Han you understand. Just solo. :)

OMG!! I just wet myself, just a little. That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

Mic, good luck, and stay safe. I'd love to see pics of the removal bro!

God bless

Jeff
