My FIL got one new in '79-'80. My BIL still uses it.
Yes, this is a 30 year old saw, used almost every year since new.

If oil is coming out of the muffler, the cylinder might be full of old mix or bar oil.

when u split the crank case your also splitting the oil tank. the crank case and oil tank are separated by a gasket so there for ifthe gasket is suspect the crank case could then fill up with oil
