I have a 2000 diesel pusher motor home.. It has the 8.2 cummins in it.. I can't get over 30 psi of air in the system. Put a new governor on it but still no luck.. When I shut it off the air holds steady .. I can't find any major leaks.. Any ideas? Thanks

Some air tanks have check valves, does it build up to 30psi or does it just don't build up air period?Does it have a air dryer? If it does check the purge valve, thats located under the air dryer.Thats the think you hear spit when it reaches 120 psi.If hung open you'll rev the heck out of it and won't build up anything. If it has a dryer, have someone bring up the rpms, get underneath and put your hand under neath the dryer and see if it's pushing air out constently it's the dryer. You can by pass or get another dryer. If you don't have a dryer ,could be the loader valves on the compressor. Some compressors[Bendix] have a little plate on top of the compressor head.If you remove you will see a a couple little springs and plastic seats some times a spring or plastic seat will break.

I started it this morning and it worked perfectly...??? Tried it 4 times today and each time it got up to 120.. It does have a dryer on it.. Now what? I don't want to tear out and it decide to quit working again on the road..

Do you run methanol in the system at all? Might have just been something frozen up a bit.

Engine should be an 8.3L. Cummins C series.

I put some in it last year .. It was not very cold when I started having trouble.. This morning was the coldest I have tried it and it worked ok..??
