Are there different grades of nitrile gloves? I used some medical ones the other day when I was rebuilding a carb, and they started to fall apart from the carb cleaner.

Nitrile is also called Buna-N, and it's not recommended for high chain volatiles like carb cleaner
with Ketones and Acetone mixed in it.

Here's a short compatability chart based on O-Ring materials, but not sure what all materials are available
in disposable glove options though. It looks like both Teflon (PTFE) and Viton (Fluoro-silicones) are resistive to carb
cleaners

yup. Carb cleaner, Brake cleaner, Acetone, lacquer thinner, xylene eat Nitrile. When I worked in Rad shops we used to get some really really thick nitrile gloves that would handle it.

I never wear gloves with working with carburetor cleaner, I find it helps me discover all the nicks and scrapes I might has simply ignored otherwise...

I have chemical sensitivity from years of solvent exposure. I used to bathe in xylene.... now I react to it and other solvents very easily. I try to use water based degreasers when I can now, and avoid skin contact.

Same here.

I work with biodiesel, acids and washing chemicals.

So far I didn't found any good gloves that can last more then a week.

I'm using gloves for chemicals and they after a while become like plastic... They just broke on finger joints.

I have a major reaction to solvents these days, too. My best luck so far with Nitrile gloves has been the Raven PF (powder free) 6 mil gloves from SAS that ya can get at AutoZone, etc. I buy em by the 100ct. box and get fairly good mileage out of a pair. They'll break down with the carb cleaners and break cleaners, but will hold up long enough for a fairly serious session with such chemicals before they weaken to the point of perforation or tearing. They even have a slight grip in the texture and are basically designed for wrenching. Wish I'd have found them a long time ago.

Most gloves of this type are not meant for constant contact with chemicals or solvents. You are supposed to take them off as soon an you get anything on them...

Check here: Galeton has the Glove You Need for Your Specific Job!

If these guys don't have your gloves, you probably don't need gloves. Cheap prices, too, but you had better plan on buying by the dozen. I buy lots of stuff from them, and they occasionally send me a free sample.

Try these for carb cleaner: Neoprene Coated Gloves with Rough Finish, 14 Inch #6512

Kinda pricey, but these gloves will stand up to MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) which is one of the worst solvents around: http://www.galeton.com/butyl-ii-chemical-resistant-gloves/6214-product/
