I have two pair of Carhart work pants and a pair of insulated coveralls that are 4 yrs. old. They go thru _ell while I'm taking timber (almost a full time job last 3 yrs.). They certainly don't look new but they are still in very good shape (except for the patch on the left knee where the saw nicked me (bought a pair of chaps shortly after that)). Now they wont stop a chainsaw but they do wear well.

HOWEVER, I will be checking out Pointer brand just to keep things in the U.S.A.

The leather patch doesn't mean anything. They changed that a few years ago. I got American made pants with the leather patch on them.

Even if they are made in america they were probaly made on something from another country.

i don't think so.it's quality stuff made in the USA.compare their jeans to levis.much better quality and less expensive, and not made by some third world chicken chaser.

and you gun guys need to know that levis is anti gun!

Awesome post. I live in the winter climates for work. You definately get what you pay for when it comes to Carhartt quality. I've tried other coats, jackets and bibs. Nothing similar price lasts. My Rocky bibs are warm and water proof, but they don't fit worth a damn and are the same price range as the Carhartts.

Im still wearing the Carhartt bibs I bought 5 years ago, and the same Carhartt pants I bought 4 years ago.

I have one Carhartt coat thats going on 10 years, one thats on 3, and one brand new one. The 10 year old coat other than being faded is in better shape then the one thats 3 years old. Still fits, albeit a little on the tight side (and not because it shrunk!)

Now mind you I am not easy on my work clothes. I work in a landfill...so everything you guys toss out I end up wallering in at some point in time.

My Carhart shirts say Made in China. My newest Carhart jacket says assembled in Mexico of US components as do my Carhart jeans. Two of my coats and my insulated pants don't have origin labels.

If you have Made in USA Carhart's, I'd like to know where you got them.

I just looked at my pocket tee shirt I had on . made in honduras

I like Hondura's better than China.

China is going to spend more on defense this year than ever and of course they lowball what they're telling us. I refuse to support their buildup but it's getting difficult.

A few years ago I was in the Harley shop and I was gonna buy a leather vest. It said Harley Davidson an American tradition. The white tag said made in china. Didn't buy it, and I was very vocal about goin' down the road to buy a Honda. Didn't buy it either. Hard to find American made anymore.

i stand corrected.

i checked my carharts and they are no longer made in the USA.i may have to make my own pants now.:bang:

'Back in the day" carhartt was a great brand of clothing, My grandad has a farm so in the witer we are all ruff on out stuff. I have a coat that is about, 10 years old and in good condition and my dad has the old style camo bibs and jacket and they are about like new, but they are alos years old. Its like trucks, the older stuff would hold up for ages, now-a-days, there are recalls and oopsies, and all that stuff . . .

"Woodys" is a brand name from a distributor that also markets "FORESTER" brand bars and chains and "Timber Savage" files that many of you guys have tried.

any one know anything +/- about them. they are a bit long on me, but the legs are wide and go almost all the way around, which i like cause i did not want a full pant. They have the UL safety thing on them. I am satisfied with them. The crotch doesnt hang down real low on me like my boyfriends chaps do so i have full range of movement, and they are really light, not heavy at all, just wondered if anyone knew anything bout them. . . couldnt find a whole lot of details. . . post or PM me.. . .lemme know
