I have a 8018 with the Duetz, replaced the entire clutch assembly about 6 months ago. This week a spring came off the clutch plate and got wedged in so that the clutch would not disengage properly. Disassembled and waiting for clutch plate. Any other 8018 owners having clutch issues?

Problems not the machine its the clutch. Sometimes springs break.
Whatever you do don't buy one from Foley Engines. They are over priced to the point of being a rip-off and they make stupid mistakes and then charge you a 40% stocking fee, when it was their mistake. God I hate those -------.

The guys down at global equipment exporters really know there stuff about Carlton grinders and are by far the cheapest on parts. There a site sponsor so click on there link abive for more info.

The clutch plates are common parts you can get from any power drive componants or driveline componant shop. The spring dampners do break because of the the vibrations and pounding it gets from the cutter wheel. The clutch plates were designed more for smooth power. You can get the other clutch and PTO parts right from McClelland. Be sure to replace the pilot bearing and throw out bearing. THey are cheap and you might as well do it while it's a part. Be sure to have the flywheel surfaced before you put it back together as well.
