I figured I'd start a new thread, looking for some info from guys with experience with Carlton stump grinders.
I've got a lot of great advice from people on here through my last thread, and after thinking about everything that I was told, and taking what i do for work into consideration, I see that a bigger grinder could be benificial to me, if I can find the right machine at the right price.
I've researched hours and hours at different machines, primarily Rayco, Carlton, and Bandit. After everything I have seen/read, I'm really leaning hard towards the Carltons. Ideally, a 7015 or 7015trx looks perfect, but they are pretty pricy, so brand new is out of the question. While looking for used ones, ive seen a couple 4400-4's for sale, but they were old listing brought up through the internet. They seem to be very comparable to a 7015, and about 10,000 dollars cheaper as well. Does or has anyone owned a 4400-4 and have any input? It seems like for the price it would be a good entry-level machine in that 60hp range where I don't have to shy away from the jobs that are a bit too big for my little 1625, plus if it will help get me more work from other companies I'm all for it.
