I'm taking a chance on this one on Ebay. If it doesn't work, I'll just relist it. It's $9 + $12 shipping. Nice thing is there's no name on it. No putting a Makita in a Stihl or Husky case. Looks thrown together like a patchwork quilt...
the square husky boxes are nice, wanted one for my 7301. wont fit with the big felling spikes. so i just keep my junk in my buddys new husky box, hes got a 340 in it, lotsa room. you would think makita would build a blue box for their pro saws.
I have one of those big Husky cases for my Dolmar 6000i. It fits fine and has a velcro attachment to lock down the saw under the handle. It will fit a qt of oil and a small 2- stroke oil bottle, with slots for files, spare plugs, screnchs, ect. If my saw was any bigger it might not fit, as the top of the box hits the chain brake handle.
I should have the case I bought off Ebay pretty soon...hopefully it fits. If it does I'll post again in case there's any other Makita owners out there needing a case...
I actually have one of those Stohl bags, very hard to get ahold of in the U.S. Mine was hand delivered from Germany, should have got two then I'd have one to sell. My 7900 WILL fit in the bag and does so when I travel to get-togethers.
That's a pretty cool case Lobo...thanks for posting it. Never saw a chainsaw 'bag' before. Nifty.
Well, I got the case from Ebay already - I ordered it Saturday and it got here today - very fast shipping! Anyway, NO it was not the right size, but it became modified quite easily (a little Yankee ingenuity). A 2" x 6" cut in the top of the lid let allows the handle and the chain brake to extend just enough to be used as the handle (had to remove the original handle). The nice thing is it's perfectly balanced.
So if anyone is looking for a case for a Makita saw without the name of another saw on it, this could possibly work for you. It could be done cleaner than I have it...some of the areas I cut, I didn't need to...
