One of the best deals one could ever find is to contact a saw rental outlet from the big box stores, those saws get a new chain every time the saw goes out, when the saw is returned that chain comes off and discarded, make an acquaintance with the guys that work there and you will reap a heap of chain for very little coin. I bought perfectly good chain for $2. a loop, it needed to be sharpened, no big deal and they offered to sharpen them and then sell them to me for$5. a loop. They have .325 and 3/8 chain often, I got a 5 gallon pail near full from a few visits.
