Is stihl rsc3 chain any good for ripping? Can buy several used loops (cheap). I can sharpen my own chain. I just need to know if it's worth it to buy used vs. new regular ripping chain.
 
Yes it's good for ripping but can be improved by altering the angles (there's good info in searches and stickies here). It really depends on what your after, if you grind your own chains, your use, lots of variables in there. Not the cleanest thing stock but not a split rail either. Search is your friend here or even an images search with variables like chain saw milling RSC or the like. Only you can determine if it will provide what you want.
