Multiple discussions on this subject

I am trying to find out what everyone uses out there. What had an earlier discussion on how to file a chain so I figuire we should consider what kind of file brand. Afterall I think we have had a few discussions on what brand of saw to buy.

Missed a couple of brands

Someone just brought Pferd and Sandvik to my attention.

Never heard of Premium, who makes them?

That is why I put the "other" up on the poll since I am not sure who all makes files.

Chainsawworld, did you do allot of work on what file is best?
I know we forumed before and you like the Lazer "brand"

After talking to reps at a couple places Oregon and Stihl are made by Grobet-Vallorbe .
Based on this discussion Lazer might be made by one of these bigger manufacturers.

premium also carries the name of total.
i have no husky files left(sold them for .25 cents a piece just to get rid of them) to find the origin.
chrome cut comes from germany.
vallore(swiss) makes a very good flat file for the rakes. last long, stays clean, cuts well, etc.

I use TOTAL brand and they have been by far the best I've used to date.

Who makes TOTAL ?

Is it a Japanese file?
There are probably manufacturers in Italy, India and maybe down under I have yet to find.

Don

Total is a Swiss made file distributed by Tilton Equipment.
