I searched around and while I found some general comments, not too many pictures or good comparisons between different cases. I recently picked up the Husqvarna Powerbox as there were more "reviews" and in pictures it looked like it would fit my Stihl files better than the Echo Toughchest. I soon realized it didn't fit the tools I already had and picked up an Echo Toughchest to compare. Overall I like the Echo box best for storage, although it feels a bit flimsy compared to the Husqvarna box. The Stihl woodsman case has the best feel as far as quality despite the poor Inge design.
I'm keeping the Stihl and Echo cases and will return the Husqvarna to the box store I picked it up from. If anyone has any questions I can easily get measurements or pictures for another day or two before I return it.
Top to bottom: Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo
Husqvarna box, Stihl scrench barely works, filed don't fit and no where for the Stihl torx tool. The manual also does not stay put in the elastic holder on the roof.
Echo case fits a Stihl scrench and a bare round file nicely. A file with guide barely fits in the spot designed for a spare chain. The manual holder in the back is too small where the Husqvarna is too big, but eyeglasses clip there nicely. The scabbard fits well and is easy on/off where the Husqvarna is very thin and doesn't want to go on or come off without a fight. Since it's on a case there is zero need to have a scabbard that fits so tightly.
Stihl case has the best storage for the torx tool and scrench, but limited space for other tools... And it doesn't stack. It does feel the best as far as heavy duty construction is concerned. The hinge is probably the weakest part, but everything else is better than either box style IMHO.
The worst part of stacking the Stihl case ontop one of the box styles is that one of them will be backwards so the bars align as shown in my first picture.
I had taken a couple other pictures, but they didn't turn out. like I said, if anyone has any questions or wants a specific picture I can try to grab one over the next few days. I plan to return the Husqvarna box as I don't need 3 cases when I only have two saws, and my SO would probably kill me if I bought a 3rd saw this year [emoji2371]anyway, I hope this helps others.
Edit: saws I have are MS261cm and MS180. Both are pictured.
