The boxy case that Huskvarna offers that holds the 61, 257, or the 357 might do it. Max bar length is 20". I think it wlll hold my Makita 6401, but I'm not sure. I'll check and report back.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the site. I don't case my big saws they are bulky enough as is. But, If I wanted to keep one clean and prevent drips and such in a vehicle, I'd go with a heavy gym bag, like DeWalt tools go in. You would have to pull the bar, Joe.

In order for the Dolmar to fit, a heat gun must be used to soften the inside of the double walled Husky case and form it. I also had to cut a little plastic for the felling spikes to fit, but it can be made to.

It's tricky work. In the case of the Makita 6401 or 6421, the chain brake bar projects too high unless engaged and the outside handle also requires cutting into the plastic in order for the top to close. Had the case been about 3/8" longer to accommodate the spikes and 3/8" taller, it would have fit perfectly. In short, you have some major whittling to do, but it appears feasible. Seems strange that Dolmar does not offer a case.

Thank you for your responses, have decided on the Husqvarna powerbox with 24 inch scabbard offered on E-Bay.Understand some modifications must be made will see how it pans out.

Get a heat gun, take your time. I used a magic marker and indicated where it needed relief. Kept after it and got it to fit. The 2nd latch won't close and the brake must be down. You will have to trim where the bucking spike is.

Husky make soft side bags. I'm not sure what sizes, but they're available on Ebay.
