I just put the baileys big bore kit on my dcs6401. I'm sure that the kit from baileys is good but the saw wont run and I need that thing running for work. I would hate to have to put the old stuff back on the saw. Can anyone help?

Double check the installation. Did you put the rings on the piston? Is the impulse line connected to the carb (if there is one, I forget)? Any air leaks around the intake boot where it joins the cylinder? Is the cylinder torqued down properly?

If there's spark and fuel, it should at least "pop" a little bit when you're trying to start it.

Thanks for the advice. Everything was on right except the muffler wasnt tight, and the carb wasnt right either.( I dont think) I took the muffler off and went ahead and added a second hole in it, (With a screen and deflection shiel of course) put the muffler back on, closed the carb jets then opened both of them 1 1/4 turns she fired right off then ran. Tuned the carb and shes screamin. I've got a grin from ear to ear. I dont know why the muffler being lose would have caused her not to run so it must have been the carb. If anyone has one of these saws with this kit on it, I would love to know where your hi and lo screws are adjusted to and how it is running.

rmihalek, thanks for giving a darn. I am also a master plumber as well as a tree climber and if you ever have any plumbing questions feel free to send me a message.

No problem Kansan, that's why I read stuff here. I put the exact same kit on the exact same model saw, so I figured I could help. Most likely, the loose carb was not allowing any air/fuel mixture to be pulled into the crankcase when the piston comes up from bottom dead center. Basically, the engine was trying to run an air! You can run her without a muffler, but not without a carb.
