OK, not sure how many of you use an ATV for logging but I hunted for a decent chainsaw mount for my Arctic Cat and all I could find were the ones that clamp onto the bar and hold the saw vertical and there's no way I'm doing that to a 30# Stihl 051. So I ended up building one that holds the saw on my front rack, I sent pics and the idea to Kolpin to build something of this nature but that would hold a decent size saw (80cc+) and a smaller limbing saw with storage for wedges, files, gas can, bar oil, etc. What do you guys think? My present version is a bit crude but it works for now until I get the time to redesign it.

Nice

I'd like to get my hands on one of those also. I usually use some bungi cords and it still slides around... Seems like they'd sell quite a few. Good idea ya got there bro...

I use bungee cords and ratchet straps, I have no problems with the saw sliding around, but I do most of my riding at the cottage, which we only get up to 6 or so times a year,so there is more cutting on the trail to do because of how infrequently we ride them. Sometimes its only 100m or so between fallen trees, and i HATE how long it takes to unstrap and strap it up each time. I think I amgoing to rig something else up.

Sent the pic to Kolpin and so far no response. Here's what I'm planning for part II. Sheet of King Starboard cut to the same shape as my rack with the Arctic Cat Speed Rack mount style. My 025 by the bars, 051 in front of it, pouches for wedges, files and spare chain, place for 1 gal bar oil and 1-2gal can of gas. Not sure how I'll do the gas yet but tossing around either a normal plastic can of trying one of those flat style that bolt on.

Here is the one I made. Two pins and it comes off. The chain is for the bungee hooks. It will carry gas or saws. I put my saw in a small duffel bag and bungee it down, comes home clean.
