I was wondering if anyone had a clue to what this might entail. I think I'm way past my prime in a lot things. Yet I still have the desire to compete and I still got some skills runnin a chainsaw.

I'm not sure if this is the same, but when I was in college we had a competitive logger sports team. The obstacle pole buck was one of the events. There would be a 30' log gun barrelled on the ground with the end about 5' off the ground and about 15' from the support.

You would start with the saw at your feet and touching the end of the log. You would then grab your saw, run to the end of the log that was on the ground, run up the log, start the saw as you were running up the log and then cut the end of the pole using the bottom of the saw from both sides. Then turn off the saw, run back down the log and back to where you started.

Of course in those days (late 70's) we didn't wear chaps or saw pants, hard hats or any other form of PPE except for caulk boots.
