have found a few posts about chainsaw protective pants and would like to know more info about sizing.....if anybody who has a pair of the SIP comfort range pants can let me know how the elastic waist band fit around their waist vs. their normal carhartt waist size it would be a big help. i don't like elastic waist bands but i also don't really want to go up a size and have a bunch of room in the seat and such. i believe they already have buttons for suspenders so would taking the elastic out be an option? thanks for any info/feedback

ps. and no i can't afford the 'nice' pfanners so i am lookin' at the $200 dollar range

I bought a pair of pfanner pants (on-line) that were a medium size (rated as 34" waist). Since I am a 32-33" i figured the small would be too small. The pants were a little big, but I figured that in the fall months I would more than likely be wearing a sweatshirt and would need the extra room.

Problem with "a little big" was in warmer weather (t-shirt) the pant waist would act as a funnel and route the wood chips down inside the pants.

To solve the problem I had a tailor put an extra hook & snap (pants have both type of fasteners) on the waist and now they fit perfect in summer and cooler months.

I know you are looking at different pants, but I thought I would add my 2 cents on how I custom tailored mine to fit. I would not recommend removing the elastic as it (when fitted properly) helps keep the chips out of your underwear.

thanks for the info, i tend to wear a light long sleave or my t/shirt(depending on how warm it is)over the top of my suspenders/pants so as to not end up with splinter d:censored:k...
