Alright, so I've had chainsaw pants before and own a pair now. Am looking for a decent pair for climbing in for my employers perspective. We need to have blue pants. I've had Husq pants before but that was like 10 years ago.
Anyone?

Why blue? Uniform issue?

IMHO you can't beat Pfanner pants for climbing. If your employer is buying, then they may not like the price. But for unrestricted moving while climbing, they are the cats ass (read great).

I hoping to pick up a couple of pairs at TCIA Expo if the price is right. If not, then just one pair.

I'm liking my Clogger trousers...stretchy, double seat, reinforced knees and lower leg, chainsaws protection in front with all the way around from knees down.
Grey and black...and pretty lightweight.
I've climbed in Sip, and Stihl Hi Flex...Cloggers are lighter and cooler.

How long do a pair of those last?

You have the clogger arbormax? I have been getting them for me and my guys, they are good. For extra coolness putting a zip vent behind the knees makes em even better.

I've climbed in the summer stihls which are ok but not great. They're not expensive though, and have the breathable material in back. I'm climbing in SIP climbing pants now. They're stretchy and comfortable, but very hot in summer. They're pretty much winter only pants. They've got more protection than the stihls though. My next pair will be cloggers. You can get them custom made by cloggers too, for not much more.

Chainsaw pants are compulsory for workcover insurance for anyone operating a saw in aus, but climbers are exempt. There are so few leg injuries for tree climbers; it's mostly hands, forearms and face. I like wearing them, mostly because it's more comfortable on spikes. When I trim in summer, I often wear shorts. It's just plain too hot, and some trimming work is handsaw stuff anyhow, or only a few cuts with a climbing saw.

Had mine over two years now and they are doing very well.

I accidentally melted a small hole in the front with a chainsaw muffler and wrecked a zipper on one of the lower pant cuffs. I imagine these pair will last another year or two at the very least.

I'd like another pair so I have something to wear while these ones are drying after washing them. They are warm in the summer, ok hot, and get a little hummy (think hockey gear bag-for us Canucks) after a week of sweating in them. You should hang them to dry and when I'm busy, I can't wait a day for them to dry sometimes.

Yup, just got them recently, even took them to Bermuda and they were easier to wear than any trousers I've had before for the heat.
Back in the cooler country now, just so easy to put them on for any job, ground or in the tree.
