go with the 026 over the 029, I havent used the 026 but did own a 029 (gutless wonder) I used it maybe 5 times and ended up trading it in on a 036 (got lucky and traded it in for what i paid for it) and have been very happy with it, but it sounds like you are looking for a little bit lighter saw than the 036. I guess the 029 is ok, but myself i just didnt like it.

Look at the Shindaiwa 488. I like the old Poulotto better.
