Hey Guy, today at work I was delt the task of finding information on those jeans with the chainsaw protection inserts. The only ones I found are from Madsens. I have seen a set of Key jeans with this feature but could not find any info. The main information I am looking for is the protection offered, layers etc....Also any manufacturers and places for purchase (on-line). Any info will be greatly appreciated and thank you and advance.

Jeans

I Dont now if yhis is what you are looking for, but if we (my last employer, City of toronto) if you are working around primary wires (705 and up) we had to wear billistic pants that where 100% cotton the only manufacture that thay could find where in Montreal ,
the pants are jeans that are 100% cotton i could find out layers and address for you if you wanted , i would have to go up staris and pull a set out of the darwer and see.
If you need the info just say.

Everyone I know hates the jeans. Chaps are good, but don't get the ones with buckles. Full out pants which offer full protestion from below your underwear right down to the bottom (on the front) are really nice. They are nylon on the outside with those bags of safty stuff sowed on the inside. Only problem with these are they are hot to wear. But they are durable and no more expensive than anything else.

APS, Arizona Public Service's forestry group is experimenting with chaps, full on pants and wants to try the jeans...the problem with the full on pants was that the crews in Phoenix where developing rahes. So the want to try the cotton/denim style pants, they want to try them first before making a decision. Currently they are not required to wear chaps in the trees, but I think they want something that they dont have to put on and take off through the day. Like I said they want to try the jeans and also see what else is out there.

Thanks
Jamie

Alright. Can't blame them for trying.

But most of the nylon ones are cotton on the inside. The bags of safty stuff are usually cotton I think. Anyone that is getting rashes could try wearing pants underneith the safty wear (if they wanted to). People wering chaps should be wearing pants under them anyways (those indecnt bastards. :blob2: )

Oh come on now what wrong with a little bare skin. Why wear pants under the chaps? Anyone remember this pic.

I have saw safety jeans from Stihl. I do not saw much but wear them when I do and they are a little stiff but not too bad. I wear them with orange Stihl suspenders I got from Gypo and it sure makes my daughter roll her eyes.

Just take those chap inserts that Madsen's sells and cut a slit in the top of each chap put the chaps inside your trousers and fasten the newly created buttonhole on your suspender button in front and your covered. gone this way for years works just fine. some guys put a little elastic loop on the bottom, but I don't feel its needed.

Nothing but fallers pants for me its the only thing that is covered by workers comp sure they are a little hot to work in but its better than chopping off your leg. The ones I have are made by Husky the suspenders I wear are also Husky but all the saws I use is Stihl :D

Chaps are good for occasional users they are too much of a pain in the azz trying to wear them everyday. The pants are easy to put on and out the door in the summer time I wear just a pair of shorts (not underwear) with the pants over them in the winter time I wear them over jeans or jogging pants.

It's funny that the main people who like full out pants are from up north like us. I wouldn't want to wear them down south. I sweat to much even in normal cool weather. :D

I sweat tying my boots. Netree thought I was gonna die the first couple hot days we worked together. It took a lot to assure him that "sweat like a pig mode" was normal for me.:D

Thanks for the additional info and interesting photo. As far a using felling pants, like I said at the top or else what I think I said was these guys work in nice cool places like Phoenix and Yuma in the summer...gets a little warm like 110 or so. I did look into Labonville, they make the kevlar inserts that Madssens use.

For the record I did not save the pic. A minute or so seach of AS will find it. When I did find it I had to save it to the HD so I could post it (I do not know any other way to post it).

Bill, the easiest (and best) way would be to provide a link to the image.&nbsp; For instance, in your attachment above, the URL is <b>http://www.arboristsite.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=200377</b> which can be found (in my browser at least) by right-clicking the link and selecting the "Copy Link Location" menu option; then pasted into the reply.&nbsp; With the default settings of this forum software, just the URL being inserted into the reply text will automatically provide for the formation of an actual link.&nbsp; That was not made into a link because I've opted to not have it be automatically done at this time.

Sometimes you may want to use punctuation right next to the URL.&nbsp; If you, for instance, place a comma after it, the software here doesn't get it right; it engulfs the comma as part of the URL and it will fail as a link.&nbsp; In such cases, you need to manually place the <font face="fixed"></font> and <font face="fixed"></font> hard up against the front and back, respectively, of the URL.&nbsp; <font face="fixed"></font>http://www.arboristsite.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=200377<font face="fixed"></font>, an attached image to a previous post, illustrates my point well, while the negative is illustrated by <font face="fixed"></font>http://www.arboristsite.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=200377.<font face="fixed"></font> (that fact that this second link still works even with the period in it merely indicates forgiveness on the part of the server, and it's actually broken behavior -- don't count on it)

The possibly worst thing you can still easily do to include a previously-attached image in your reply would be to immediately surround the URL with <font face="fixed">
font> and <font face="fixed">
</font> tags, thus embedding the image into your reply (since you've already seen it above it should be loaded in your cache, and in any event, it's small, so I'll show you now).

As BJ Squirrel has pointed out in the past, you can "quote" my reply to see how I've actually done it.

This is a very open minded site. Nobody cares what kind of pictures you are into. I know that the folder you got that from on your hardrive is called "erotic men in chaps pictures".
