i have a problem, im getting sick of the chute on my bandit 65 not being height adjustable, if im on dead flat level ground its damn near perfect to load my truck but anything different from this its either to high or to low.

it got nothing to do with the flap on the end isnt the issue its the overall height of it.

so whats the masses suggestions for making it adjustable, ive thought bout hinging it above the curve and then just using a jack stand to adjust it up and do but im looking for the most amount of movement possible as i sometimes load in to skip bins when doing large clearing jobs that we get craned into sometimes and i need to clear 3m of vertical height so i can point the flap down to aim into the the bin.

Cheers Karl

Bandit makes adjustable chutes for their larger chippers. I bought one for my 250xp several years ago from Bandit for $750, unpainted.

Maybe they make one for yours?

cheers treeco, i might give the bandit dealer a call here in new zealand.

getting one from bandit sounds expensive, even more so with the fact i live on the other side of the pacific ocean and its a mighty expensive ocean to get things across haha

Local welder and some telescoping tubing should be affordable.

i am thinking it may come to that, the current chute is fairly beat up due to wear and tear so i am thing a total rebuild is in order and i will lengthen the chute as well as my chipper has the longer draw bar, so that will get it closer to the truck with out taking it off the truck.

I used to own a Bandit 65. I don't think a longer chute is a good idea. There is just not enough power to throw chips down a longer chute, it will get plugged up. I would modify discharge deflector to aim the chips where you need them to go. Keep a sheet of plywood handy to place at the end of your bin to reduce splash out.

Not sure if it's the answer you're looking for, but we have an angled piece of plywood attached to the rear door and when you aim the chute down on the plywood it deflects the chips to the top of the box.

The other thing we do is jack up the chipper with a block under the jack to get the extra height.

thanks for all ya suggestions,

i cant use a piece of ply to bouce chips up and into a skip bin and i cant cut a hole in the bin to load it as i dont own the bins we use hence why i need the chute to be 3 meters up.

the suggestion of jacking up the front of the chipper to get the height works for the bin sometimes if were on flat ground.

making the chute longer wouldnt be a issue on my chipper it would be a blessing, the damn thing eats my ply wood box so if making chute longer sucks some power out of the chip throw id love it.

i am also trying to avoid having to disconnect the chipper from truck when loading as we work on some funny angles at times.

cheers for all the suggestions guys
