My wife is aussie, 4th dan blackbelt in taekickyu and the nicest person I've ever met.

Aussie chicks rock (except the bogans, they're frikken scarymental)

When I got my 62cc I was really debating between that and one of the 58cc units based on the one you have (G5000 clone). The carb size tipped it, and I'm glad. The 62cc is not underpowered, especially with a gasket delete and a little grinding on the intake. They usually build them with a lot of squish clearance.

For the money i am very impressed with the saw. A bit bigger displacement would be great as the 52cc one i have is ok with a 18" 325 bar, but in hardwood if you push even a little it bogs quite easily. It is even more noticeable because of the low RPM's this saw runs at. Maybe a little grinding is in order for mine.... if i mess it up a new P+C is only like $35 anyway. The muff mod i did helped a little but not like on a brand name saw.

They are great from a practicing point of view, as the low cost means you have little risk - but they are based on very good Zenoah designs so there is potential, and if you do it right you can end up with a nice saw when you are done. From what I have seen they generally alter the original design as little as possible.

Them cheap saws have their place,

Besides if'n you can't sharpen a chain an 461 is pretty worthless?

I cut a bunch O' wood with a cheap plastic Homelite back in the day.

Agree! Having any tool maintained and working properly is much more important that what brand it is and how much that tool cost.
