cheap roll of chain or was it?

bought a roll of 3/8 lp 050 chain , made up a couple chains yesterday made it with same dl count put it on, and the tensioner needs to be full out to tension it. other chains i made today i made with dl count minus 1 and thats better obviously. whats the deal there? ive just fitted to stihls so far . good and smooth when on no slop anywhere. its chinese chain so thats mabe the issue.
