Maybe for a 288 or non injection saw.

That would allow water easier access to the intake. It would suck snow directly in also.
I couldn't use it here.

Agreed! When my air compressor tank gets to 90 psi, the pump begins to labour, and than shuts off? I'd buy a screen anyday, over another Harbour Freight compressor......
