Hi,

I've been rebuilding a trashed Badger 552 Chipper, if there is such a thing. It is 16" disk chipper with a Cummins 4 cylinder diesel. I replaced the motor, clutch, belts, hoses, and had the radiator cleaned.

Today I finally got the belts driving the disk installed, and 1 of them keeps coming off. It runs for a while, then the belt just flips off. They are 4 brand new NAPA BX97 belts. The pulleys look OK, the grooves are clean.

2 questions: Anyone know anything about Badger Chippers, where can I find a a manual?

And: Why does 1 of the 4 belts just roll off? Too tight? Too loose? Cheap belt? Any help would be appreciated!

We had much the same problem. Pulleys were slightly out of alignment & if you replaced the engine , therein lies the problem. You might try a lazer light pointer as it is small enough to lay into the bottom of the pulley groove. Good luck !:jawdrop:

Thanks. They look OK , but they must be really sensitive. I'll check them good tomorrow. I got a 4 foot level that spans the distance. I'll make it as good as I can.

Thanks for the info.
