Ok, you fixed the big problem, but..
Glad you caught the problem. I thought about suggesting that, but I didn't think that would be possible.
If you can miss that little detail, let me suggest that you probably need to work on some other details as well. It is very much like running a chainsaw. Even though you now have the chain on in the right direction, that doesn't mean it will perform as well as you can get.
1. Make sure that the blades are extended past the drum at the manufacturers recommended clearance. This is very important. Don't get this wrong!
2. Set the bed knife at the correct gap from all the knives, which are presumably all set at exactly the same level. Check EACH blade against the bed knife
3. Adjust the drop plate to the correct clearance after the knives are set correctly. Do this in the wrong order, and there will be problems.
